Final Project Pitch! >.<

For the final project, I want to make a music video for a song by my friend (and classmate!) Kathy Tran. Her song is titled "I Don't Want To Be a Hipster". It has a nice spunky, catchy beat so I want to make a video that matches her quirky style.

I want to use a lot of pictures in the style of magazine cutouts and animate them.

Here's sort of an example of what I'm thinking of:


It won't necessarily be one long cohesive story, but more like several scenes directed by the lyrics of the song. I will take a lot of pictures from the Internet, take some photos with my camera myself, and draw/animate some stuff in Flash. I also want to use text in After Effects to show some of the lyrics.

The song is a little over 2 minutes, but there are repeating verses so I can repeat the animation.

For the last verse, the tone of the song changes and I want to have that scene play out on a theater stage (like in the video I embedded).

I'd like to finish storyboarding before Thanksgiving break and gather my pictures. And then during the break, I'll work on putting everything together. And the last week, hopefully, will just be minor tweaks and rendering!
